Dear friend,
If you are medical professional or student I would like suggest you to support and subscribe the Dublin Declaration. If you are not, we ask you to spread it.
The Dublin Declaration states that direct abortion is never needed to save the life of a mother: a reassuring and authoritative statement when it comes with the significant backing of leading medical professionals.
The Declaration may be signed by obstetricians / gynaecologists, doctors, midwives and nurses, neonatologists and pediatricians and medical students. SIGN HERE.
DUBLIN DECLARATION ON
MATERNAL HEALTHCARE
«As experienced practitioners and researchers in obstetrics and gynaecology, we affirm that direct abortion
– the purposeful
destruction of the unborn child – is not medically necessary to save the life
of a woman.
We uphold that there is a
fundamental difference between abortion, and necessary medical treatments
that are carried out to
save the life of the mother, even if such treatment results in the loss of life
of her unborn child.
We confirm that the
prohibition of abortion does not affect, in any way, the availability of
optimal care to pregnant women.»
Since its launch in Dublin at the International Symposium on Maternal Health it has garnered the support of 700 medical professionals - and it now must become a global pro-life document.
Countering the false claim that «abortion saves women's lives» has always been a difficult challenge for the pro-life movement, because of the propaganda of abortion campaigners and media supporters. The Declaration has the power to cut through that propaganda, and will become a globally significant statement with hugely positive consequences for the cause of protecting mothers and babies, if given the right support. The Dublin Declaration promoters seek to promote best-practice care for all women who may experience difficulties in their pregnancies, and wish to further expand the practice of treating illness during pregnancy to allow for a healthy and happy gestational period for both mother and baby.
Our aim is to have the Dublin Declaration launched and supported in every continent and the number of signatories grown to 2000 by end of 2016.
Thanks for signing and spreading the word!!
Kind regards,
